Four Valley foam roofers publish their per-square-foot rates. We put them in one table, built an estimator on top, and explain what moves a quote inside the band.
| Job | Published Valley rate | On a 2,000 sq ft roof | Who publishes it |
|---|---|---|---|

| Recoat (clean, prime, new elastomeric/silicone top coat) | $2–$4 / sq ft · “low-to-mid four figures” | $4,000–$8,000 | Travek · KY-KO |
| New spray foam roof over an existing roof | $3.50–$7 / sq ft · $5–$9 / sq ft | $7,000–$18,000 | Arizona Roof Co · Durafoam |

Tip: a typical single-story Phoenix flat roof is 1,600–2,400 sq ft. Measure the footprint on the Maricopa County Assessor parcel map and add 5% for parapets.
On a 2,000 sq ft Phoenix roof at published rates: a recoat every 6 years is roughly $6,000 × 3 = $18,000 over 20 years and the roof is still alive at the end. Skipping recoats and replacing with tear-off at year 12–15 is $20,000–$30,000 once, with a leak-prone roof for the last few years before it. The recoat schedule is cheaper and the roof never stops insulating.
Durafoam reports a 15–35% drop in cooling costs after switching from tile or shingle to foam. Put in a summer bill and pick where you think your home lands.
Assumes cooling is ~60% of a Phoenix summer bill (APS and SRP both put summer cooling between half and two-thirds of usage). Savings vary with attic insulation, duct condition and the roof you're replacing. Recoating an existing foam roof restores reflectivity but does not add the full step-change.

New installs: $3.50–$7/sq ft (Arizona Roof Co) to $5–$9/sq ft (Durafoam) for a standard 1-inch application. Recoats: $2–$4/sq ft (Travek). Replacement with tear-off: $10–$15/sq ft (Travek).
A recoat is cleaning, spot repair, primer and a new 20–30 mil top coat. A new roof is 1–1.5 inches of sprayed foam plus that coating, with more labour and material and often a permit.
Most offer a free roof walk and written quote; some charge a small inspection fee credited to the job. Ask before booking, and get the coating product and mil thickness in writing.
Not a direct roof rebate as of this writing; utility programs focus on insulation, shade screens and duct sealing. A foam roof's benefit is on the bill itself — see the cooling calculator — and some homeowners pair it with an attic insulation top-up that does qualify.
